    Where is the mission located?                                                                                                                                                        

The mission is located on the san francisco bay near the stream named by Juan Bautista de Anza.

 

 

What group of Indians was living in the area?

 

The Indians that lived there were the bay Miwok, the coast Miwok, and the Patwin Costenoan. 

 

When was the mission established? What order in the mission chain is it?

The misson was established on June 29, 1776 and found by father Junipero Serra and Father Palou. 

 

 

Who was responsible for starting this mission?

The two men that were responsible for the mission was father Junipero Serra and Father Palou 

 

Has the mission moved from its original location? 

Yes it has moved. It's moved 1,100 feet west. A new wooden church was built.

chapel: Their is no chapel.

Bell wall or bell tower: their is two bells on the bell tower. they used thongs to hold the bells.

quadrangle:Their is a quadrangle as the patio. 

priests' quarters:each padre quarter has a small room called a cell where they sleep. Their were small windows but instead of glass in them, the windows were covered with cowhides. They had a small bed and a table with one chair.

Indians' quarters: They had no Indian quarter in the mission but they lived near by.

Archways:Their is one archway In the front door and a few in the house.

Fields,grounds,gardens: Their is a garden on the other side of the workshop. It had many flowers and benches. 

o Outbuildings:There are no outbuildings. 

 

 What materials were used to construct the mission?

The materials that were used were mostly made of adobe bricks with lile roof and lile floors 

 

 

What was the main industry of the mission during the Spanish occupation?

 

The main industry during the spanish occupation was that they had a shipping center 

 

What, if any, is the main industry of the mission today?

 

The main industry today is it's a turest place and it's a church service.

 

What was the relationship between the Priests and the Indians?

 

The relationship between the priest and the indians is the indians feel that the 2 priest were very strict and unkind to them.
